Powell River : Skookumchuk Narrows
September 3 to 5, 2011
The Patricia Theatre is the longest running movie theatre in Canada, since 1913. We caught Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The theatre is definitely worth seeing, and the movie wasn’t bad either.
There was also the Sunshine Music Festival, which we were actually too busy to visit.
Serendipitously, as we came through the ferry terminal at Earls Cove on the way home an extra large flood tide was predicted at Skookumchuk Narrows so we took a minor detour and walked the four kilometers through the provincial park to be entertained by the whitewater kayakers playing in the rapids. Recommended for anyone.
Some really nice people we met this time out, as well. Colin, thanks for welcoming us to Sliammon—fantastic plums. Fellow Kana-tuna rider, hope your leg felt better on the ride home from Egmont.
